Yeast Mixture:

  • 3/4 cup Milk (warmed to about 110°F)
  • 1/2 tsp Active dry yeast (can be dry or instant yeast)
  • 1 tsp Granulated sugar

Dough:

  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon (grounded)
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg (grounded)
  • 1/2 tsp Allspice (grounded)
  • 4 cup Bread flour (or all-purpose flour)

Cross Dough:

  • 1/2 cup Bread flour (or all-purpose flour)
  • 1/2 cup Water

Icing:

  • 1/2 cup Bread flour (or all-purpose flour)
  • 3 tbsp Orange juice (or water)
